It’s been a little over a year since I made over my four-year old’s closet, and I am so excited to say we still love it! If you want to see some before pictures head to this post from last year. Changing up this closet was huge for me. It’s funny how a little project can make you feel so empowered. From demo to paint, planning to styling, I did it all (with a little help from my hubby). But there are a few changes I have made and one important thing I would do if I could do it all over.

Changes I’ve Made
I learned the hard way wicker baskets and kid’s clothes aren’t a good mix. We threw a wet bathing suit in her old laundry basket, and it molded the bottom. So, the first switch I made was to a plastic laundry basket. This was actually given to me by a friend and I am so grateful! Next, I moved the embroidery piece to over my daughter’s bed and replaced it with a framed picture of her and our dog. Lastly, we did need more shoe storage so instead of a basket for sandals, I thrifted a plate shelf and repurposed it to add more shoe space. But other than that, the closet has stayed the same!

What I Would Change
The functionality is perfect for us, and I still adore the design, but it I could redo this space I would take more time or hire someone to help me hang the wallpaper better. I ruined a sheet and then just got it up without getting the seams to match up. I don’t think it’s too noticeable, but I notice it and wish I would have taken the time to match it up. However, I don’t plan on changing it so it’s not that too bad!

Bonus Closets
After I did my daughter’s closet, two of my Instagram friends made over their daughter’s closet and they are adorable! Make sure you check them out on Instagram too.
